Geotagging is a cost-effective way of using GPS technology and web-based mapping to aid project monitoring and supervision. By simply taking photos, projects sites are easily and accurately plotted on an online map, enabling government authorities to “virtually” monitor and evaluate progress in the projects, with minimal need for physical visit to hard-to-reach areas.
With a GPS enabled android cellphone, free downlodable applications and computer with internet access, civil society can help ensure that government infrastructure projects are delivered the soonest possible time and with the desired quality.
