Diocesan Social Action Commission – Bayombong

Diocesan Social Action Commission–Bayombong created its social arm, the Diocese Social Action Commission of Bayombong, to promote justice and peace in Nueva Vizcaya and Quirino. 

This religious organization advocates social issues behind health, education and indigenous peoples. Its initiatives include the monitoring of mining operations, election processes and the delivery of books to schools, under the Text Book Watch project of the Social Accountability Network. Moreover, it provides assistance to partner organizations in preparing petitions and campaigns against questionable and anomalous government projects. In fact, the DSAC – Bayombong has a pending case in the Court of Appeals, filed against a mining company operating in its area.

The organization is supported by the Philippine Misereor Partnership (PMP), Liliane Funds, MISEREOR, Pimentel and Assisi Foundation.
