Mr Oktovianus Tonapa or “Okto” is Program Coordinator for Social Accountability of ANSA-EAP where his organization, Yascita is a network member.
Yascita is a non-government organization that promotes sustainable development and the use of the media to promote better public services, good governance, and environmental awareness and care.
Okto uses his media position as field reporter and as a camera man of Radio Swara Alam and Editor-In-Chief of Kendari TV in order to promote his good governance concerns.
His sensitivity to the issues that threaten both the local and global environment is borne out of his long education and training in environmental journalism since 1997.
He attended local journalist trainings in Jakarta that provided him with an in-depth view on gender perspectives on journalism and intermediate television journalism in broadcast communications.
In 2007, Okto went to Radio Netherlands Training Center in the Netherlands for a short course on Advanced Television Journalism.
