THE right of access to accurate and relevant information on public policies, programmes, services, budgets and expenditures is a fundamental element of social accountability for citizens and Civil Society Organisations (CSOs).
The Public Social Accountability Monitor (PSAM) from South Africa Mr Abongile Sipondo revealed this after a preliminary study conducted in Tanzania on the challenges and opportunities of applying PSAM’s Social Accountability Monitoring (SAM) Approach in Tanzania.
