Quezon City – ANSA-EAP and its partners from the Philippines gathered for the soft launch of iMonitor on 25 January 2013 at the Oracle Hotel in Quezon City, Philippines.

iMonitor is an online portal for submitting procurement observers’ reports. Through this online portal, submitted reports can be linked to a map of government procuring entities and projects nationwide.

Through iMonitor, procurement observers’ reports may now be available to the government and the public in a timely manner. Through the website, feedback from ordinary citizens who are beneficiaries of particular government-procured projects is also encouraged.

Through computer portals in the venue, visitors were able to go through the website and give feedback on its features. Procurement observation reports from several civil society organizations are already available in the website and citizen procurement observers may upload their reports as the iMonitor team rolls out its Submit feature in March 2013.

The iMonitor team works closely with the Government Procurement Policy Board (GPPB), the Philippines’ regulatory body for public procurement policy. At the event, Atty. William Ragamat of the GPPB Procurement Division also presented GPPB’s website page for civil society organizations to register and create their own profiles. An overview presentation of GPPB’s agency procurement compliance and performance indicators followed.

Among those present during the event were representatives from various government agencies and civil society organizations across the country. These include:

  • Commission on Audit
  • Department of Social Welfare and Development
  • Government Procurement Policy Board (GPPB)
  • Philippine Government Electronic Procurement Systems
  • Abag Kalambuan, Inc.
