The sixth in Dean Antonio La Viña’s series on social accountabilty and the G-Watch project of the Ateneo School of Government. In this article, he discussed G-Watch’s experience with the municipality of San Miguel in Bohol and the lessons we can take from them. He wrote
“I find in G-Watch’s San Miguel experiences that President Ramon Magsaysay’s honorable belief that “those who have less in life, should have more in law,” has an equally important counterpart outside of law and legislation. Those LGUs which have less in resources must have more in good governance. Indeed, efficiency born out of accountability is the critical multiplier that allows municipalities to thrive as though they were cities.”
