Last June 12, 2012 the World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors approved the Global Partnership for Social Accountability (GPSA) and the establishment of the GPSA Multi-Donor Trust Fund (MDTF). The GPSA proposal benefited from feedback received during consultations with 1,300 civil society stakeholders in more than 60 countries during the 2012 Spring Meetings.

GPSA Board paper, the Partnership will provide strategic and sustained support to CSOs and beneficiary groups working in the field of social accountability, leading to improved country-level governance reforms and service delivery. The GPSA will start small and gradually scale up its reach towards being a global partnership.

Consultations

A second phase of consultations on operational details of the GPSA in country-specific contexts will be running until end of July. Please see the GPSA website for more information and forthcoming updates.
