Telapak (BT, Sulawesi Selatan) is an association of NGO activists, business practitioners, academics, media affiliates and leaders of indigenous people. The organization works with indigenous people, fishers and farmers of Indonesia toward sustainability, sovereignty and integrity. Telapak hopes to achieve this goal by influencing public policy that relates to conservation and to establish a community-driven natural resource management system to slow down ecosystem destruction. In the process of conducting its activities, it involves impoverished communities living in and around natural resource-rich areas.
Telapak sustains its programs and activities through cooperatives and community enterprises in printing, mass media, organic agriculture and sustainable fisheries and forestry.
